I want to hire an interior decorator to furnish my house, maximize use of space, and overall make the house look nicer, cleaner, and more inviting.
My house is about 4,000 square feet
I will not be there (just bought it, have not moved in yet, I want it to be nice and ready to go when I get there)
fix any major cosmetic damage (largely noticeable scratches in hardwood or paint, any stains, or any nicks, scratches or holes in anything, not many as far as I know)
Make all the furniture match the rooms without having to change any of the paint or floor colors
put a nice plant here and there
if lighting needs improved maybe a nice furniture matching lamp here or there
I need to entirely furnish the whole house:
I do not want leather or suede, just a plain, soft material that is easy on the skin and does not stick to sweat (at least not very much)
I want it to all match the rest of the furniture and whatever room it is in.
I want it all to be very soft and comfortable
I want it all to be high end
tv's and electronics will be about $40,000 alone
I will have a band room/ recording studio, that is not included in the cost of the electronics
it will cost about 40,000 alone as well
my question is, can all this be done, set up correctly, and be nice when I get to my new home. (i dont expect stuff like mics to be in the correct position only I can do that, but I want to be able to set them up and have them ready to go when I do start recording) for 150,000 total or less, including the the cost of electronics, furniture, and band stuff, which alone will cost about 80,0000 plus another 15,000-30,000 for the furniture and appliances? if not give me a ballpark figure, and possibly if you can a good interior decorator around where the house is. The house is in carlsbad california.

For minor repairs you need a handyman for maybe two days, and that should cost under $1K unless you want to refinish the floors or something not so minor.
You can get Viking, Sub Zero, etc. high end kitchen appliances for about $30K. That would leave you $39K for furniture.
I don't know what your idea of "high end" furniture is, but $39K doesn't buy very much high end furniture to fill 4,000 square feet. It would possibly be enough to furnish the house with moderately priced items.
If you make a list of all of the major furniture pieces that you know you will need (number of sofas, number of beds, number of dressers, dining room furniture pieces, etc.) you can go online and get ideas of the price of items that you like. Some good web-sites for moderately priced furniture are ethan allen, pottery barn, crate and barrel, macy's, bloomingdales. Add a percentage of your total for all those items that you didn't shop around for. All of the minor pieces would cost about 50% to 100% what the major pieces cost if you stay in the same quality and style range.
If you think that you only need one $1,500 sofa and two $600 chairs to furnish a room, then the complete cost of that room's furnishings should be about $4,000 to $5,500. If you want two $7,000 sofas, then the room ends up costing $20,000 to $30,000 to keep the items all of that same quality. That process will give you an idea of the budget that you need to furnish the house to your tastes.
It doesn't seem that you need a decorator for much beyond furniture selection and space planning. A decorator should charge you on an hourly basis for any services that they perform (space planning, shopping, getting your approval and listening to you talk, re-do plans, etc.).
If you print the information about items that you found online (when you were establishing your budget) then the decorator has lots of information about what you like, and where you are trying to go with your decor. That will save them time, and so it will cost you less in fees.

I am going to San Francisco for the second time..I am 15 soon to be 16 and I don't want to go out to lame museums..I want to go to meet cute boys and see what the life is like there..I also want to be safe there..even if I don't meet some guy, I will be happy.. I still want to hear other suggestions on where to visit..shopping, eating, chinatown? Thanks a bunch:)
