Is this a good way to start off my story?

Its a little long.
Last night was amazing, I still couldn't believe that my team made it to playoffs.My arms stretch out, Yawing and opening my eyes very slowly I could make the day out already. A quick meeting with the coach, a Continental Breakfast, school press meeting, school, get pulled out the middle of class to play for round two, and finally if we win, get a sweet kiss by Marci Clemons. The twenty three year old who stole everyone on the team's heart. I prop myself up on one elbow, attracted to the wondrous smell of fresh bacon and scrambled eggs. I lifted to my feet and tossed on a shirt. Leaving out, I notice something oddly unrecognizable. Beside my dresser was a gleaming star, It lit up every time I blinked. I never bought this and I don't remember anyone giving it to me. It was yellow and about the size of a over grown pillow. Great, someone is going to come looking for it and I will get blamed a thief I better hide this thing quick. As I go downstairs I see all my friends and family gathered around the big dining table filled with more than just Bacon and Eggs. Theres of course bacon and eggs but also pancakes, sausages, purple nip syrup, goat milk, fresh french toast, tarts with cream on top, ham, cheese, and a box of my favorite cereal; "Hunger O's" but even all of this food didn't surprise me I'm pretty much used to it. What acutally surprised me was how my two best friend's were here.
"Hey son!" My Father called out from behind the counter, Seems he was pulling out a cake.
"Dad... you didn't have to cook all this food, remember the Continental Breakfast before playoffs"
"Oh, all that stuff is watered down anyways. I need my boy to eat a good breakfast... Happy birthday son"
I looked over at the two unexpected guest and couldn't help but bring myself to a smile.
"Jason, Carina" They both smiled but where still silent. Jason was leaned back agains't the chair singing a song that I couldn't read. It's probably my dad's song, He loves his music.Everytime the beat dropped Jason shook his brown hair and pretened he was at a concert.
Carina was staring at me with large brown eyes (as usual) looking bubbly (as usual) and I guess, playing with her fork? whatever
"Austin, we won't be at school today" Carina says. My smile began to fade.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, me and Jason has some other business to attend to"
"Well what is it" I say, trying my best to mock her tone. Not only was today the day of the playoffs but It's also my birthday as well, and to hear them say they won't be at school was a little unbearable.
"Nothing of your concerns, we'll definatly be at the game though Raider Ball is my favorite"
"Yeah, I know... what about you, how come you have nothing to say?"
Me and Carina looked over at Jason who was still rocking out to the plain air.
"Happy Birthday Austin!" Jason smiles and places in some headphones. Linda came around the corner with a large platter of cupcakes and party favors. Linda was out personal cook (Only when my dad is not cooking) and house mom. Well my house mom at least. My dad tells me storys of how my real true mother left me here after she gave birth to me, he says it was for a reason. Personally I think she just used my Dad for fame and left off. She's a mess and I never ever want to meet her. Just the thought of her discusses me. How could she leave me behind... her own son. She was such a coward,whenever I try to talk about her in that way Dad tells me to stop she left "For personal reasons" but who leaves there kid? Well whatever I learned to cope.

It's boring and the dialogue sounds like something out of an Eggo commercial....plastic.
How many fathers do you know call out to their sons,..."Hey son!"
Answer: none.
They call their boys by their names. All the dialouge is plastic. And there's no imagery. You're just telling the reader what is happening. That's not storytelling. Sorry, but that's the truth.
Also...the typos, etc....
This isn't a good beginning because it doesn't do anything. It's just a play by play of a boy getting out of bed and you're just telling everything, not showing.
A story has a plot that needs to be moved along. What is this about? A boy that is about to play his last soccer game because he's about to get kidnapped by aliens? If so, then you hint at the inevitable....without giving it away. He saw a strange light outside of his window, a flash that was there and then gone...hmm..strange...then he goes to breakfast and there's something on the news about people sighting UFOs.....hmm....this is building up to the inevitable....without outright saying it.
Example of telling is if you said...Jason is a football player.
Example of showing...Jason slipped into favorite team jersey and tackled his brother in the hallway...."Notre Dame! Notre Dame!" he shouted and laughed.
Example one....you're just stating something.
Example two....you're showing the character is a fan....he puts on a jersey and he tackles his brother....so, clearly he's a football fanatic.
