Does anyone know where the good yard sales in san diego ca are?

The three responses you are referring to sort of surprised me too.
First off Craigslist is the place to view what's being offered at garage and yard sales. Each poster on the site notes what part of the city he/she is located in. That alone will answer your question.
Yard sales are more common in areas with single family homes like Clairemont, Pacific Beach, Bay Park, La Jolla, Mira Mesa and University City to name a few communities north of downtown.
When we were moving out of Clairemont I had so much stuff!..We had yard sales for three weekends. People got some great bargains from us. One thing younger people don't realize is that when kids are moving back home with their parents or when a grand baby has been taken away from its parents and placed with the grandparents, that they need furniture and bedding to support that child's needs. These are hot items at garage sales: Cribs, beds, mattresses, end tables, dining tables, desks, chairs.
Also many of the early bird shoppers at garage sales are from Mexico. They buy items like I noted above and resell them at their second hand shops south of the border. That's how they make their living.
Just wanted to add a little more info. Good luck at your upcoming yard sales. Hope you find some great bargains.
PS---Checkout the "FREE STUFF" section on Craigslist for some surprising items. I got brand new shower sliding doors that way. They were awesome. Saved over $100 this way.

Whats a decent beachside hotel in the San Diego or Oceanside area?

Want to head to the beach for a few days and don't want to deal with finding parking spaces and such. Location more important that ammenities. I'd like to walk to beach and not be far. Coming from Phoenix so thinking San Diego area. Thanks!!!

I think the best "on the beach" hotel is the La Jolla Shores Hotel at 8110 Camino Del Oro La Jolla, CA. This spanish hacienda style hotel (formerly called the Sea Lodge at La Jolla Shores so you might still see it under that on some review sites) is located directly on La Jolla Shores Beach. The hotel has both beachfront rooms and courtyard rooms, some with kitchenettes if you're looking to save a little money on dining. The also have beach chairs and umbrellas for their guests to use on the beach. There is a nice, but expensive, restaurant on the premises and it's within walking distance of cafes, small restaurants and a market. Street parking is pretty limited in the beach area, but the hotel has an underground parking area. Expect to pay for this perk - although I heard it's free if you've got a hybrid vehicle. The parking spots are very tight though, so if you've got a large vehicle, you'll probably have to find street parking.
As for the area, the hotel is adjacent to Kellogg park with grass, a playground and picnic areas. The beach has fire pits (not too many beaches still allow them), fun to hang out there at night.. The beach is a great spot to swim or surf or people watch and is home to the Underwater Ecological Reserve so it's great for snorkeling too. Lifeguards are on duty during the day.
Another decent hotel in La Jolla that I like is the Holiday Inn Express at 6705 La Jolla Blvd. This one has really comfy beds and offers a very large continental breakfast (not just danishes and juice!) It's not on the beach but it's within 1 block of Wind N Sea Beach. This beach is best for surfing, not recommended for swimming. (It's quite a trek to walk from this hotel to LJ Shores beach though) The Holiday Inn has it's own parking lot but the spaces are pretty tight, as they seem to be all over the area. If you can avoid getting a large rental car, you'll be better off with something mid size or smaller.
