White Choc

I went to the Corner Bakery for a bagel early in the morning. I usually go to Einstein Bagels because they are so much better (AND QUICKER). They open at 8 on Saturdays. They usually start letting people in at 7:30 -7:45 because there is usually a line. I saw a gentleman preparing their outdoor dining area. He went back inside. I opened the door. He looked at me. "Eight o'clock! Is it eight o'clock yet?" Would you go back here?

Answer
Restaurants and bars have to start setting up for their customers before the place opens. If they don't, people will complain about coming in to a restaurant that has the chairs on the table and no salt & pepper out.
If their opening is 8AM, it is inappropriate to walk in before they are open unless they specifically tell you to come in. They are busy, they can't wait on you and you could be in the way.
What was his tone when he asked if it was 8AM yet? Did he sound worried or sarcastic? He could have been concerned that he was behind schedule when you pulled open the door and he wasn't done with his set up.
Or he could have been sarcastic.
Either way, the opening is 8AM. If he was rude/sarcastic, tell the manager. But make sure you include in your complaint that you did try to come in before they were open.
And yes, if it was a place I usually go to, I would go back.
