We informally staged our house, and while I don't know whether or not it sold faster, it certainly looked better than it did empty.

We took out almost all the furniture except for
A picture, an end table, a chair and a lamp in the living room
A (small) table in the dining room (no chairs)
A double bed (not queen or king) in one bed room.
A small book case and simple desk in a second bedroom
A picture in the third bedroom.

We also kept up shower curtains (and all regular curtains) and put hand towels in the bathroom. We put a couple of very nice looking plants in the house, and kept some kind of plant decoration (poinsettia in December, gourds in the fall, flowers in the summer) on the table and mantel to keep the housing looking fresh.

People need to be able to imagine how the house looks with furniture. And by keeping the furniture small, and by using very few items, you can make the house look much bigger.

Also, use stuff that is as simple as possible. Nothing too modern. Nothing to distinctive. Nothing too stylin'. You want as many people as possible to be able to imagine the house being THEIR house. Your fantastic collection of 1950's furniture, although stunning, will make it difficult for people with very different tastes than you to imagine that this could be their house.

Good luck!

Where and what exactly is this at Disney World?

EpicDisney

At first I thought it was some sort of ride, but then I saw the drinks and napkins and thought it was probably a cool cafe or something. Could someone tell me what and where it is?

Answer
This would be the Sci Fi Dine in Theater at Hollywood Studios.

This dine in restaurant is themed to look and feel like a drive in movie theater during the 1950's. Depending on the size of your party you will sit in one of two types of cars. The one that is most visible in this picture is one that seats about 4 people. You sit in the car just like a real one, but the steering wheel, dashboard, etc have been replaced with tables. The other type is similar, but instead of sitting in it like a normal car, it is more like a booth & chair type idea, while the other one is just booth. You can order classic 1950's food, similar to that of the 50's Prime Time restaurant not far away.

The room is not only themed with that, but the kitchen is made to look like the concessions building, there are "speakers" that are really speakers, which is how you hear the sound coming from the large screen in front of you. It is like those from drive in theaters, with a projected image on it. There are a number of different videos that play, including horror film clips, trailers, and commercials like you would find at a drive in during the 1950's. The walls are also painted to look like the outside world would look like, with bright shinning stars & darkened trees.

Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney. It is located at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and I highly suggest trying it out. It is surely a place you will want to return!
