These are some of my fav recipes;

Caesar Salad Supreme - YUM !
6 cloves garlic, peeled
3/4 cup mayonnaise
5 anchovy fillets, minced
6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1/4 cup olive oil
4 cups day-old bread, cubed
1 head romaine lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces

Mince 3 cloves of garlic, and combine in a small bowl with mayonnaise, anchovies, 2 tablespoons of the Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cut the remaining 3 cloves of garlic into quarters, and add to hot oil. Cook and stir until brown, and then remove garlic from pan. Add bread cubes to the hot oil. Cook, turning frequently, until lightly browned. Remove bread cubes from oil, and season with salt and pepper.
Place lettuce in a large bowl. Toss with dressing, remaining Parmesan cheese, and seasoned bread cubes. Serves 6.

Buffalo Chicken Wings

oil for deep frying
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup hot sauce
1 dash ground black pepper
1 dash garlic powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 chicken wings

Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). The oil should be just enough to cover wings entirely, an inch or so deep. Combine the butter, hot sauce, pepper and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir together and heat until butter is melted and mixture is well blended. Remove from heat and reserve for serving.
In a small bowl mix together the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Place chicken wings in a large nonporous glass dish or bowl and sprinkle flour mixture over them until they are evenly coated. Cover dish or bowl and refrigerate for 60 to 90 minutes.
Fry coated wings in hot oil for 10 to 15 minutes, or until parts of wings begin to turn brown. Remove from heat, place wings in serving bowl, add hot sauce mixture and stir together. Serve. Serves 5.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into bite-size pieces
2 heads fresh broccoli, cut into florets
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

In a 5-quart pot, melt butter over medium heat. Mix in flour, stirring constantly until a thick paste forms. Remove from pot, and set aside.
In same pot, combine water, bouillon cubes, chicken, broccoli, salt and pepper. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium low, and simmer for 45 minutes.
Stir in the flour mixture a little bit at a time until soup thickens. Simmer 5 minutes. Reduce heat, and stir in cream. Mix in cheese 1 cup at a time, and stir until melted. Serves 10.

Can vinegar and peroxide be used to safely clean a sterling silver and cubic zirconia ring?

LeAnne

I have developed what is known as wedding ring rash. I have looked online and found that a solution of peroxide and white vinegar thoroughly cleans bacteria from a ring, which is usually the cause of the rash. But most of the information I have found is about gold/platinum and diamonds. Would this solution harm sterling silver and cubic zirconia?

I have a temporary set to wear while pregnant because of fingers swelling, it is sterling silver and cubic zirconia. My real rings are on standby until I can fit into them again. While this silver/Cz set isn't my real set, I am fond of it and don't want to ruin it.

Thanks for any information.

How to Clean Sterling Silver Jewelry With Baking Soda
By Ruby Bayan, eHow Contributor

Sterling silver reacts with moisture to create a layer of tarnish or oxidation on its surface. Baking soda activated by boiling water in the presence of aluminum, will dislodge the tarnish by making it bind with the aluminum, leaving the sterling silver clean and shiny again. This is the simple, organic way to clean and polish your sterling silver jewelry.

Things You'll Need

Baking soda
Aluminum foil or pan
Glass or plastic dish
Boiling water
Plastic or wood utensil
Absorbent towel
Soft cloth

Instructions

1
Boil just enough water to submerge all of the sterling silver pieces.

2
Use aluminum to remove tarnish from sterling silver.
Line a glass or plastic dish with a slightly crumpled piece of aluminum foil. If you have a small aluminum pan that you won't be needing for food preparation again, use that instead.

3
Lay your jewelry on the aluminum, making sure the silver touches the aluminum.

4
Sprinkle baking soda on the jewelry.
Sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda over the jewelry.

5
Pour boiling water on the baking soda.
Pour enough boiling water to immerse the jewelry. Bubbling should occur, giving off a rotten-egg odor (the sulfuric gases released by the cleaning action).

6
Move the pieces around gentle with a wood or plastic utensil to ensure that all of the silver surfaces come in contact with the aluminum. You will notice that the silver has become bright again.

7
Rinse the jewelry under tap water. To ensure that you don't lose small pieces like earrings and pendants, put a sieve over the drain to catch whatever may slip off your fingers.

8
Clean and shiny sterling silver jewelry
Wipe the pieces gently with an absorbent towel and polish with a soft cloth.

Tips & Warnings

If you see yourself cleaning sterling silver regularly, keep and recycle the aluminum pans used for takeout or frozen cakes and pies.

To minimize tarnishing, store sterling silver in a moisture-free environment. Use plastic bags with zipper locks, anti-tarnish strips (available at jewelry stores) or moisture-absorbent products (available in some pharmacies).

You will also find moisture-absorbent packets in some merchandise such as shoes, medication and accessories that are sensitive to moisture. Reuse these packets by putting some in your jewelry box to minimize tarnish on your sterling silver pieces.

Use this technique to clean small pieces of sterling silver flatware and dining accessories.

The baking soda method of cleaning is recommended only for jewelry that is all sterling silver and those that incorporate plastic, glass or crystal beads. Some gemstones are affected by the baking soda reaction--for example, turquoise.
