I bought this one chair at a garage sale and want to buy more somewhere. It's not an old design, it looks like a modern day dining room chair. It doesn't have arms just seat and high back, upholstered. There is no name on the chair anywhere. The bottom of it has a tag of some sort with a California registration number CA-33986. Other than that I've got nothing. Can I use this number to find out who the manufacturer is or where it was sold?

My brother moved out and I'm moving into his room. We're gonna totally redo it. Im 14 years old going into high school. I do plan on bringing new friends i meet at HS in my room so whats a good choice to design it?

You need to figure out how much furniture will fit into the room. Start by making a scale drawing of the room. The usual scale is 1 foot equals 1 inch, so you will probably need to tape two pieces of paper together. Measure the room. Place the windows and doors on the drawing as they occur in the room, and show the direction they open. (See links below.) Measure your bed, dresser and any other furniture you will have. Draw outlines of the furniture to the same scale as the room drawing on a separate piece of paper. Label each item and cut out each. Place these furniture pieces on the room drawing, and move them around to see how their location affects floor space.
Once you know how much space you have to work with, you can figure out where to put chairs. One chair could also be a desk chair or a vanity chair, and the other could be an accent chair. Chairs without arms take up less space than those with arms, and fully upholstered dining chairs are compact, comfortable and less expensive. Although you could all sit on your bed, sitting opposite each other is more conducive to talking. Since you plan on entertaining in your room, small tables may be helpful to hold snacks and drinks. You can probably use your nightstand and dresser, but see if you can fit in another small table. Plant stands with solid tops make useful tables for small spaces, and they aren't usually as expensive as regular tables.
