How much does it cost to furnish a 2 bed/2 bath apartment?

The apartment is 2 bed, 2 bath carpeted apartment. Stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher are already there. I already have a bed, mattress, drawers, night stand, sheets, towels and some other things. (not really concerned with my roommate's furniture situation) Basically what we need are furnishings for living room, dining area, and kitchen. We don't have any TV's or major furniture. So what would be the best way to go about furnishing and what should our budget look like?

For a kitchen table, I would recommend going to antique stores. You will get real wood. And you can bargain with them. Maybe find a sell. They look great. $250 up.

Or a resell shop. If you can not afford this new, garage sales and flea markets.

For the the living room, you could start out with 2 chairs. Furniture is very high. Most of it is made out of press $450
wood. The side table could go between the chairs.

Kitchen- you can find things in a dollar store.

--if you've got a TJ Maxx HomeGoods store, that is an excellent place to find nice pieces as well as Target, Walmart & Sears...it may even be usefull to try some second hand stores like Goodwill, Salvation Army or chic vintage shops.
